Eddy Gartry - Vocals & Guitar
Born in North-East of England on a stormy and bitterly cold November morning at 5 am. The first of eight children, Eddy was to discover what real blues was all about. Decades later, he's bringing them directly to you, armed with a guitar, an amp and a voice to disturb the dead. Some say, he was the result of alien insemination, others consider him to be the reincarnation of Douglas Bader, the famous legless ace pilot of World War Two... no one knows for sure!
What we do know is that Edward 'oddsox' Gartry is a Blues player of extreme talent. He has served the decades' long apprenticeship fronting many bands and is a fully armed musical artist with talent and passion. He has worked with many of the great and good in the pantheon of Blues artists in the UK and abroad supporting the Muddy Waters Band and Hubert Sumlin from 'Howling Wolf', Peter Green, Mytch Ryder, played and performed with the 'Very reverend Tony T.S. McPhee', Gypy Mayo, Wilko Johnson of Dr Feelgood, jazz artist Gary Potter and Doctor Hook! He tours Europe regularly with his powerhouse band 'Bluesstate UK' and every gig is rewarded by an enthusiastic audience and requests to play more. When at home in Wales he spends most days in the recording studio producing and performing on a string of Bluesy CD's both for his band and others. Influences; Blues R&Roll Soul R&B From Dylan to the Stones and from Hendrix to the Beatles, Chuck Berry & Bob Marley. |
