Nik Walker
London born bass player Nik was member/co-founder of Old Tennis Shoes, a very popular rock/blues band from the north-west of England.
They toured Europe extensively for many years and played support act for bands like Ten Years After, Herman Brood and his Wild Romance, Normaal, The Troggs, Groundhogs and so many more.... In '95 Nik parted company with Old Tennis Shoes to pursue a solo career and recuperate (some say to undergo therapy!). During this time he was involved in several musical recording projects. |
Finally he was coaxed back to live gigging. First as a guest bass player for Eddy Gartry's Blues State UK and in 2009 for a reunion tour with Old Tennis Shoes.
Bass Influences are the usual suspects like John Entwistle, John Paul Jones, Roger Glover and Glenn Hughes. Music influences are many but particularly J.S Bach, Mozart, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, AC/DC and most stops b'twixt 'n' b'tween.
With his classic Gibson Thunderbird bass, illustrious top hat and bottle of JD never far from his side he can now be seen and heard pumping out the decibels with T Bird Rising.
"Just a Brit Rock bass player with more volume than sense ... Play it Loud Play it Proud"
